Our Executive MBA

Value Proposition

Dr. Tomasz Ludwicki, Executive MBA@UW Program Director, explains the strategic value of the EMBA Program at The University of Warsaw:

Pursing an Executive Master of Business Administration is a challenging goal.  The Exective MBA@UW helps you achieve that goal through a demanding 16 month program of course-work and experiences structured for individuals who have already had success in their careers but want to bolster their credentials and develop new knowledge, skills and abilities.

At the Executive MBA@UW program there are no compromises, especially when it comes to quality. The Executive MBA program is a general management program that equips professionals with the tools and perspectives required to manage and lead a company.  During the EMBA program you will;

  • Acquire up-to-date knowledge in many of the functional areas of business. The program covers marketing, finance, human resource management, supply chain management, accounting, law, and many other management disciplines.
  • Become immersed in a unique learning experience.  Students and faculty engage in a series of debates and discussions where the demands of practical, high-velocity, real world challenges meet reflective theory in a collegial and productive fashion.

We know that embarking on an EMBA program is a huge investment in time, emotion, knowledge, money, and opportunity costs. Therefore we did, we do, and we will continue to do our best to make this program a pleasant, integrative interpersonal experience that creates lifelong friendships and trust among our alumni.

Program goals

Upon completion of the program, graduates will:

  • Possess basic disciplinary knowledge in multiple fields of study;
  • Develop critical thinking and problem solving skills;
  • Enhance leadership and teamwork abilities;
  • Think strategically and across disciplines;
  • Communicate effectively.

Program goals are achieved through four levels of learning:

Level 1 is defined by leadership and teams and explores and develops the specific concepts and skills needed to address the challenge of being a leader in today's multicultural, diverse, global business environment.

Level 2 introduces you to the functional knowledge needed in business: accounting, finance, marketing, strategy, law, operations management, and quantitative methods.

Level 3 goes deeper and focuses on cross-functional and enterprise-level problem-solving, key knowledge and skills required in well-rounded general managers. Students are required to complete Marketing, Finance and Strategic Management projects that are submitted to real-life companies for evaluation. Projects are judged and the top projects are given special recognition and rewards from partner companies.

Level 4 concludes with a complex, capstone consulting project that spans a full semester. The projects are real-life, multidimensional projects that typically come from the companies of program participants or graduates. Students apply their functional knowledge and skills to analyze multidimensional, real business problems and offer concrete recommendations to the companies.

Program courses are provided by internationally renowned lecturers from University of Warsaw, University of Illinois, University of Florida, Central European University, University of Cambridge and other leading universities.

Field studies

Every year our students have the opportunity to take advantage of three foreign travel sessions to India, the United States and Great Britain. Sessions are organized in such a way as to enable students to learn about the specificity of the country's market, get to know the business from the inside (visits to companies such as: Tata, McDonalds, Catapilar, ARC Worldwide, L'Oreal, Chicago commodity exchange, Polish consulate in Chicago, Bollywood Film Institute and many others) and taste the color of the place visited (music, food, sightseeing). Each session was unique and provided participants with many memories.

Graduates of the Executive MBA program at the University of Warsaw are granted an MBA diploma issued by The University of Warsaw, and a certificate of the postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Management at The University of Warsaw.

In June, graduates and their families are invited to the Senate Hall of the Kazimierzowski Palace on the historical campus of Warsaw University. The graduation ceremony is led by the Rector and is usually attended by the U.S. Ambassador to Poland, as well as the Dean of the College and other representatives of the Program faculty.
